Pathways Grief Support Services
Pathways provides extensive grief support for those who have experienced the death of a family member or a close friend. Grieving is a difficult task and we are here to assist you through your individual process as you begin to heal and learn to live with your loss. Pathways recognizes each person's need to work through their grief in various ways and offers the following types of support services.
If your family received our hospice services, you will receive a quarterly newsletter, "The Seasons Through Your Grief," and a quarterly pamphlet with helpful infromation on the grieving process and ways for survivors to cope with their loss. You may also stop by one of our offices and pick up bereavement booklets that have information pertaining to various aspects of bereavement.
If you are not yet on our mailing list but would like to be added, please call 408.773.4241 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
One-to-one counseling available in our Sunnyvale, South San Francisco, and Oakland offices for those wanting the support of trained grief counselors.
From September through June, Pathways provides separate support groups for loss of a parent, a spouse, or a child. There are also general groups that are ongoing for anyone who has lost a significant relationship. Groups examine common grief issues such as coping skills, loneliness, anger, "normal" grief, and lifestyle change.
In addition, in the Sunnyvale office, we offer a monthly second year partner loss class called Moving Forward.

Celebration of Light: This remembrance event brings light and warmth to the winter season in early December, by remembering loved ones with music, readings and a candle-lighting ceremony.
Evening of Remembrance: Memorial Day, graduations, Mother's Day and Father's Day may be acute reminders of the absence of loved ones. Pathways holds remembrance events at this time of year to foster renewal and growth, using music, reading, and the creation of a beautiful collective flower bouquet where the loved ones are named.
Our Pathways Bereavement services are provided free of charge. However, we do encourage donations be made to the Pathways Hospice Foundation to ensure that Pathways can continue to provide grief support to anyone in the communities we serve.
