Pathways Educational Resources

As a community-based, not-for-profit organization, Pathways is dedicated to providing education and support to patients and families in the communities we serve.

We hope that you find our Educational Resource page helpful.

Our Educational Resource area is divided into the following categories:

Brochures - Easy to understand brochures that you may find helpful to print out and take with you to your next doctor's appointment. Brochure topics include: "When Eating Stops"; "Speech Therapy: For Swallowing and Speech Problems"; "He Has Dementia: But when is it time for Hospice?"

Caregivers - Caregivers have great responsibilities, and one of the responsibilities that should be at the top of their lists is to maintain their own mental and physical health. Our caregiver resource page contains helpful downloads on topics such as: "Care for the Caregiver"; and "Dealing with Caregiver Stress".

Fall Prevention - Pathways saw a need to produce easy to read flyers to increase awareness about fall prevention hazards in and around the home. The Fall Improvement Taskforce (FIT) at Pathways created these colorful flyers that can be printed and used as check-off lists to ensure your environment remains safe and to minimize the risk of falls. Topics include: "Did you know that clothing can contribute to falls?"; "Medications can increase the risk of falls"'; and "People with vision deficits are twice as likely to fall".

Grief Support - Pathways Bereavement Services Program offers a wide array of newsletters and pamphlets that you can download. These materials give helpful support about the grief process and offer ways for survivors to cope as seasons change.

Integrative Therapies - At Pathways, we believe everyone can incorporate simple Integrative Therapies techniques in their daily lives to help reduce stress and improve quality of life. We offer several educational handouts on topics such as: "Using Relaxation Skills for Comfort Care"; and "Aromatherapy: Using Essential Oils for Comfort Care".

Translated Materials - Pathways has translated its hospice brochure into the following languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Farsi, Tagalog, Russian, and Vietnamese. These brochures are available for download so that everyone that visits our site has access to this helpful information.

Physician & Health Professionals - At Pathways, we accomplish our mission of caring in partnership with physicians and health care professionals in the communities we serve. We believe promoting the exchange of ideas and information will help achieve the most compassionate, quality health care for our patients and their families.
