Pathways Hospice to Participate in SVGives

Sunnyvale, CA — May 5, 2014 – Pathways Home Health & Hospice will participate in Silicon Valley Gives (SVGives) on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. SVGives is the first-ever one day of giving sponsored by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and is designed to raise money for local nonprofits through a 24-hour online campaign. SVGives provides Silicon Valley and the high-tech communities that thrive in the region the opportunity to support nonprofits that make a difference in people’s lives in Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Benito counties.

SVGives-logo-medTo encourage SVGives donors to support Pathways Hospice, physicians at Pathways have generously pledged $10,000 to match gifts made to Pathways. These physicians are part of our multi-discipline hospice teams who care for patients and families who are facing the end- of life. A hospice care team often includes a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, social worker, home health aide, spiritual care counselor and a volunteer. Pathways Hospice cares for over 800 patients a day in the Bay Area region and is essentially a hospital without walls providing 24/7 hour care and support for our patients.

“We can’t change that our patients are facing the end of their lives, but we can be there to make whatever time they have a little bit better,” said Dr. Brown, Medical Director Pathways Hospice. “By donating to Pathways during SVGives you can be sure that your support will go to helping someone who needs it.”
