Pathways to Honor Glenna Vaskelis, Retired Sequoia Hospital President, at Annual Fundraiser
Sunnyvale, Calif. Pathways — a Bay Area Not-for-Profit home health, hospice, and private duty organization — today announced that it will honor Glenna Vaskelis, retired president of Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital, with its Leadership in Healthcare Award. Ms. Vaskelis will receive the award at the 26th annual One from the Heart Breakfast fundraiser on Thursday, October 13.
“Throughout her extensive career, Glenna has improved care for thousands of people by providing effective healthcare policies, procedures, and services,” said Pathways President of Philanthropy Sandra Coolidge. “We are proud to honor her lifelong passion and dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare.”
As President and CEO at Sequoia Hospital (1996 – 2015), Ms. Vaskelis advanced performance and innovation that culminated in the design and construction of Sequoia’s new pavilion, which opened in 2014. She also forged partnerships with organizations including Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, the Cleveland Clinic, and others. In 2011, Dignity Health extended her outstanding executive oversight to all four of their Bay Area hospitals.
Ms. Vaskelis has served on numerous healthcare and community boards, including the Pathways Home Health and Hospice Board of Directors. Among many awards and honors, she was recognized as a Forever Influential Woman by the San Francisco Business Times.
One from the Heart is Pathways Foundation’s largest annual fundraising and awards event. This year’s featured speaker is internationally acclaimed author Alexander McCall Smith, CBE, FRSE, best known as the creator of The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency and the 44 Scotland Street series.
